Beautiful day.

Day 3

Distance today 21.5km, climb 2,396m, duration 7:54, avg speed 2.7km/h, burned 1,533kcal
Today's route
421 days since injury, 390 days since surgery

CAUTION! The duration in this article is due to my experiences and physical strength, and much shorter than the standard course time. Please plan by yourself considering your own experiences and physical strength when you plan to walk the course.

We attempted a two-days trekking trip around Mt. Harinoki.
Heading to Ogizawa.

The parking lot looks full and the cars were parked on the road.

Departed at 8:08.

Arrived at Taneike hut at 10:16, in 2 hours, 4.8km, while the standard duration is 3 hours 30 minutes.

The trail was busy and many people were walking as well.

Nice view of Tateyama.

Nice trekking,

but the air in the east side was hot and terrible.

The air in the west side had nice breeze, but sometimes the trail goes to the east side.

Arrived at Mt. Iwagoyazawadake at 11:33, for the first peak of trekking today. The duration was 1 hours 15 minutes, a little faster than the standard duration in 1 hours 40 minutes.

Arrived at Mt. Narusawadake at 12:52, for the second peak of trekking today.

Arrived at Mt. Akazawadake at 13:37, for the third peak of trekking today. 2 hours from Mt. Iwagoyazawadake, while the standard duration is 2 hours 30 minutes.

View of Kurobedaira and Daikanbo station of the tram of Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route.

When I use the tram I always look at Mt. Akazawa.
Today I look in the other way around.
Looking down Kurobeko lake.

The way to the next peak, Mt. Subari looks steep and narrow.
We have to be careful as we are getting exhausted.

Arrived at Mt. Subari at 15:08, for the fourth peak of trekking today. 1 hours 30 minutes, same as the standard duration.

Looks like we are getting exhausted.

We skied to this valley, Mayakubo three years ago.
The way to the final peak, Mt. Harinoki.

Arrived at Mt. Harinoki at 15:58, for the final peak today. 50 minutes, a little shorter than the standard duration, 1 hour.

The long trail we walked on all the way today.
Mt. Renge, the destination tomorrow,

but we are very much afraid of the capacity of the camp site.

Now it's already past 4pm, and the camp site seems already full due to the national holiday.

The ridge line of Mt. Funakubo and Mt. Nanakura.
We walked all the way two years ago.

We arrived at the camp site at 16:40,

but the site was already full.
We could stay on the slopes but it was not a nice idea.
Furthermore, the futon, or a Japanese mattress, must be shared with three people in the hut today.

It is a shame not to stay and to keep going further tomorrow, but we decided to go home today.

I hire crampons at the hut, and put onto my shoes.

Now we go down on this snowy slope.

Departed the hut at 17:00. After 1 hour walk on the snow,
We removed the crampons and went into the trekking trail.

Arrived at Osawa hut in 1 hour 23 minutes.

I returned the crampons here.

Arrived at Ogizawa station at 19:20.

Good to be back before it got dark. Pretty much long long walk. Today's trekking is the longest one I have ever walked.
