Today I wanted to go to Hakuba, but the weather did not look good, and I wanted to finish my riding in Miura.
Leaving at 6:30.
Nice lighting through the spans.
Today the weather was not perfect. I had some rain drops on the way.
Today I ran in the good pace and it took 3 hours 20 minutes so far.
I realized I can arrive earlier.
Then I came to a fisherman wharf nearby Misaki port.
Arriving at 10:20.
I wrote my name in the list and wait. There were 9 people before me.
I had to wait for 40 minutes until the restaurant opens at 11am.
I ordered the mackerel sashimi and skin-grilled sashimi.
The mackerel sashimi is very unusual.
After almost 1 hour break I started running again.
Arriving at Misaki port at 12:00.
Actually no need to come here, as I finished the meal already.
After Misaki I enjoyed the comfortable coast running.
It was a shame it was not good weather.
A little desolate beach after busy summer season.
But the road had heavy traffic.
I had a short break at a patisserie.
The season for Tarte tatin comes.
The autumn comes in Tokyo area as well.
Today I felt hungry all the time.
It must be for the cold weather in my thin cloth.
Arrived back at 6:10pm.
Good to finish my routine. Now I can switch to the winter season at any time.
Trip in Europe -day 13- Geneva/Returning
Continued from Trip in Europe -day 12- Geneva
The day to return home. We got up at 4:30.
We transit at Frankfurt.
I did not sleep well and the work was tough after I returned home.
This time the whole trip was longer, but we could not go sightseeing well due to hopping.
It was because of the work.

Today I got a work to do. I went to Lausanne by train.
From Geneva to Lausanne I see mountains on the left and Lake Geneva on the right.
There is a similar place in Japan, called "Suwa" but the people look very wealthy.
Passengers next to me were talking about the macro economics. They seem researcher of an international organization.
I finished the meeting at noon, and walk down to the station.
The train I got on the way back was IC, an express.
I saw the sign of a restaurant car and went go there.
The restaurant was actually Starbucks.
I went straight to the airport to pick my bag I left last night.
Good to see it again.
I went back to the hotel and came out again for a walk.
This is my late lunch, at Globus, a department store.
Good taste, especially the back one with Chocolate.
A famous sight seeing spot in Geneva is a big fountain, but...
It looks like the annual maintenance from today.
How unlucky I am, although I could not expect so much as I come for a work.
A fountain in the park as a compromise.
Then we go shopping for the last souvenirs.
We went out for dinner.
Les Armures, a traditional restaurant in neighbor of Cathédrale Saint-Pierre.
This is famous for its cheese fondue.
When I opened the door, we smell some characteristic cheese.
To be honest I am not good at the strong smell of a certain cheese.
I drank wines to paralyze my nose.
This is for one person but it was enough for two of us. We also ordered Salad.
The pavement has some ground lights.
The lights have some words in many languages.
Here is a Chinese one but there is no Japanese one.
Zai-jian (Good bye).

Trip in Europe -day 11- Lisbon/Geneva
Continued from Trip in Europe -day 10- Sintra/Cabo da Roca
The last day in Lisbon. We visited Terreiro do Paço before the flight.
This place could be the first place to visit, but we did for the last.
It is raining.
Also there was an athletic event and the building does not look like the mid age.
The event looks like a running event.
We came back right away.
We checked out the hotel at noon, and went to the airport.
The snack on the flight was egg torte from Lisbon to Paris.
We transit the flight at Paris to Geneva.
It would be a simple connection but I need VAT refund in Paris as we are leaving EU.
The VAT refund window is in the arrival hall and I had to go out the security with the goods we bought.
After the VAT refund procedure I needed to go through the security check again.
We had 1 hour for the connection but I had to spend almost 1 hour for the procedure.
It would be processed in Lisbon, as Paris was just for our transit.
And the VAT refund window is located in the arrival hall. VAT refund is supposed to be done just before the departure. Why the window is located in the arrival hall???
We arrived in Geneva at night and moved to the hotel.
Then I realized I left a baggage on the turn table at the airport.
I was always currying the bag all the time but I checked it in Lisbon to mitigate the weight limit.
I bought a new one in Lisbon after the security, and I just believed I would carry the bag with me!
Geneva station at night. I go back to the airport to pick it up.
I was lucky that the airport is just one stop away from Geneva station in 10 minutes riding.

Portugal, the very west country in Eurasia.
Then we have to go to the very west end of Eurasia, Cabo da Roca.
We woke up late and missed an hour to bring umbrellas to the hotel after we walk out.
We go to Sintra for 40 minutes riding on the local train.
It is highly recommended to buy a one day ticket at Rossio station.
The train from Rossio to Sintra, the bus from Sintra to Roca and Roca to Cascais, and the train from Cascais to Lisbon, these are all inclusive. Also it is free for riding in Sintra town.
The price is 15.5 EUR.
I bought it at the window but it seems available at the vending machine.
Arriving at Sintra station.
The station building looks cute.
The toilet is available only in the gate, therefore the one day ticket works really well to go into the gate.
Sintra town looks also nice.
It is a shame we could not walk around due to the time constraints.
We took the bus 434 for Sintra spots, a part of the World Heritage.
One riding costs 5 EUR if you don't have the one day ticket.
The driver holds 5 EURO bills on his hand, looks like making big money for his own :-)
The bus goes up on such a winding road.
We got off at Castelo dos Mouros.
The old castle when Portugal was occupied by Islamic.
The ticketing office is further back, and you can walk for free outside of the castle.
We paid 8 EURO each for entry inside.
We could look down Sintra town.
There are some places frightening for acrophobia.
We did not go further up to the top of the castle in such bat weather.
We wanted to go to Pena palace (Estrada da Pena) for the next, but
We gave up in such bad weather.
We changed the bus 403 at Sintra station for Cabo da Roca.
Arrived at Cabo da Roca in 40 minutes.
There is almost nothing around there.
An information center at the bus stop.
We bought a certificate to visit the west end of Eurasia, in 11 Euro.
We walk down to the end.
The earth looks round here.
A tidal eddy?
The monument was busy for many tourists.
Stayed and looked around for 30 minutes and we took a ride on the bus 403.
We arrived in Cascais in 20 minutes.
Cascais is a port town with such nice mosaic pavement.
A beach like a diorama.
We go back to Lisbon with another line.
This train goes to the market we ate yesterday.
The monument of discovery is on the way back.
We went to the old city for dinner.
We chose this restaurant just for the appearance, and realized
it was Indian. The sign says "CALCUT" if we would see carefully.
It was not Portuguese but the taste was really nice.
We enjoyed the last night in Portugal.
