Ski day 41 at HappoOne
Fast powder run on hard packed slopes
41st day for this ski season, 35 days for powder, 13 days for backcountry, telemark for 4 days
Official Snow fall 30cm, Sarukura 6H 0cm
Today we originally planned to go to back country, but the web site showed us the recovered terrains. We changed to HappoOne in last minutes.
Cues at Gondola lift.
The line was not quite long.
Alpen quad started its operation on time.
The terrain looks recovered.
No tracks on Sodeguro.
The surface was fully packed and the ski did not sink at all.
We moved to Kurobishi.
No sinking into the snow, but it is a really rare experience to ski down on "groomed" Kurobishi.
Skyline was very icy.
The powder run ends in two runs.
It was too early to finish.
We changed the ski sets and came back again.
We skied on Riesen several times.
Then we joined the sampling of Black Crows.
The first one we tried was anima.
The skies attached on the slope very well, and nicely curved on the later turn.
The next one was nocta air.
This one was very light and easy to run despite of its "evil" shape and wider than anima.
I could run fast on rough powder snow.
The next one was camox birdie.
I actually did not like this. The rebound was not enough for the high speed turn.
It is designed softly for ladies, and does not require to push hard.
The last one was corvus freebird.
This one was easy to drive. My stance was wider with this wide skies.
I looked at the side wall and found,
"la vie en rose", good words.
We enjoyed the powder runs and the sampling, such a good day.
Ski day 40 at HappoOne

I could not get up well in this morning but I realized that I got a work to do, and I have to go skiing before then.
Very calm morning,
but it should be crowded soon in such good weather.
Riesen for the beginning.
It is warm and the slopes were very soft.
Today the forecast calls rainy in the evening, but
I don't believe under this blue sky.
The lift got crowded past 9 a.m.
I took a break at the lounge until people go and spread.
After the break the snow got slushy.
Panorama got crowded as well, and I realized the time to go home.
I went to Grat before I leave.
Usagi had soft bumps to go easily,
but in the lower resort phantoms grabbed my legs. Now the spring has come.
Ski day 39 at Urahiyo
Quick hopping in the powder.
39th day for this ski season, 34 days for powder, 13 days for backcountry, telemark for 4 days
Official Snow fall 0cm, Sarukura 6H 0cm
Beautiful blue sky.
The radiation cooling nicely dropped to negative 10 Celsius.
But today the temperature is expected increasing high.
Tsugaike gondola has pretty much crowd.
The snow is too much under Tsuganomori chair lift and they had to dig out under the lift.
I have not seen they dig under the lift here.
There is so much snow in this season.
It is already warm here.
Nice blue sky.
We could see the mountains in Northern Japan Alps very well.
Urahiyo powder snow was very excited.
The condition is getting worse as the temperature increases.
This area was just before it got bad.
We were just in time.
It is just 10 a.m., but we moved quickly.
Climbing up again. The snow got wet and sticky.
The north face kept the good snow condition.
We enjoyed the dry powder snow.
Climbed up twice, and
Going through the valley home.
The snow got literary rotten in this area.
The descent was awful, like a torture.
We saw an antelope.
The "gate" became too low with so much snow to go through.
We went through the left side.
I went back to Tsugaike to return the lift ticket and found
there was a long cue. The resort also seems crowded so much.
Ski day 38 at HappoOne
An evil activity in a weekday.
38th day for this ski season, 33 days for powder, 12 days for backcountry, telemark for 4 days
Official Snow fall 30cm, Sarukura 6H 19cm
Today the pretty much snow fall was expected. I searched some data on web sites and decided to go to HappoOne.
Good snow depth on my car.
I got a good position at the Gondola lift.
The bumps at Usagi were not covered enough.
Sodeguro was really good, though.
I expected some good condition on Usagi but the bumps were not covered enough.
I found a patrol guy skiing down on Kurobishi before it was opened. The line was not the end of the course but the good line for descending. I don't understand this behavior.
The duty of the patrol is to check the safety, and they are not supposed to go down such good lines but keep them for guests.
I know the patrols in Cortina or Charmant were doing their duties without descending on such good lines. Happo patrols have to learn it!
Now I go to Skyline.
The chairlift was not opened yet and I went down on KitaOne to Gondola lift.
Then I got two runs and the powder was gone.
Beautiful morning with the morning light.
I skipped my breakfast and went to Sounds Like Cafe for the late breakfast.
This menu is usually finished at lunch time.
I went home and finished some work, but I came back to the resort as the morning runs were not enough exercise.

Alpen quad. It is foggy up there.
I could not see anything.
I regret to come here.
I wanted to have a coffee break, but
The seats were full despite of the weekday.
I tended to leave quickly, but the visibility recovered in Panorama.
Then I enjoyed some runs.
There is much snow in this year.
Kokusai #3 chair lift is hanging in the higher place.
I have visited in HappoOne for many many years but I have never seen this signboard at this lift.
Enjoying good runs in the afternoon.
