Today's route

CAUTION! The duration in this article is due to my experiences and physical strength, and much shorter than the standard course time. Please plan by yourself considering your own experiences and physical strength when you plan to walk the course.

We wanted to walk on this trail for a long time. We attempted several times this year, but canceled due to bad weather.

Now the good weather comes to the weekend.

Morning at Hakuba. Morgenrot.

We left Hakuba at 6am, and parked one of our cars at Ichinosawa, as our goal and reached to Nakabusa Onsen spa.

We left Nakabusa Onsen spa at 8:30.

The parking lot was full and we had to walk for almost 1km.

We attempted to walk to Mt. Cho, but the road to the goal point is under construction and we could not park the car there.

We started climbing at Nakabusa Onsen spa at 8:45.

I have climbed to Mt. Tsubakuro three years ago. I knew this trail was steep, and it is.

Arriving at Kassen-koya hut at 10:28. We had a short break.

We arrived for 1 hour and 45 minutes while the standard duration is 2 hours and 50 minutes.

The trail from here is called one of the steepest trail in Japan Northern Alpine, but it is steeper to the hut to me.

Mt. Fuji comes to our sight on the ridge line.

Arriving at Enzanso hut at 11:24.

We walked for 50 minutes while the standard duration is 1 hour and 10 minutes.
I realized this is one of the steepest trail as I was earlier only 20 minutes.

Mt. Yari comes to our sight just in front of us.

We left large bags and climbed to Mt. Tsubakuro.

A dolphin rock.

At the peak of Mt. Tsubakuro at 12:00.

The ridge line to Mt. Otensho and Mt. Jonen, where we are going.

We came back to Enzanso hut and left at 12:34.

Nice trail but there is a steep descending.

Then ascending again.

Keep walking.

Lastly climbing up to Mt. Otensho.

A trail is like cutting the mountain.

I exhausted for the last climb, and arrived at Daitenso hut at 14:44.

2 hours and 10 minutes, while the standard duration was 3 hours.

We left big bags and went to Mt. Otensho.

To end up here was an idea, but we decided to keep walking.

We left Daitenso at 15:06.

Keep waling.

Nice trail though.

Mt. Jonen is up front, but does not come closer.

Finally the hut comes to our sight on the saddle under Mt. Jonen.

Walking through the forest,

And arrived at Jonen hut at 16:33.

1 hour and half while the standard duration is 3 hours. Good work.

We checked in the camp site.

Then dinner time.

The camp site was not very busy.

The sun set to Mt. Yari.
The mountains were hidden with clouds. It refrains the good day.

After the sun set it got very cold. We got asleep.

Continued to Trekking-Day 8-Mt. Jonen(8.0km).
