Cycling-Day 8-Enoshima(84.6km)

Just arrived from Paris, but ride for adjusting the jet lag.

Day 8, 124days for cycling, total distance 8,829.2km, total climb 123,743m
Enoshima 9:01-16:26
Distance today 84.6km, climb 1,603m, duration 7:25, avg speed 16.5km/h, burned 2,820kcal
Gear: Eurasia 520

Leaving at 9am.

It is already hot and humid.

Today according to the weather forecast, the weather is unstable. I chose the south, as the clouds seem fewer.

The destination is Enoshima.
Running along Tsunashima-street.

Arriving at Enoshima in 2hour and half.

My logger was not working very well and I don't know the precise duration.

The sea is much different from the beautiful sea in Marseille we saw two weeks ago,

But this is the sea of my homeland.

Enoshima island.

At the lunch time and most of places were crowded. I returned right away.

The disorder coast line looks like Marsellie?

Many visitors were getting off at Katase-Enoshima station.

The last time I came here by train was my childhood. For the last few years I come quite often, but all visits were made by my bicycle.

Yokohama. I turned to Minato-Mirai today.

These span used to be Toyoko-line's rail track.

Crossing Tamagawa river.

I was heading to Haneda Airport, where we landed appx. 9 years ago.

At the international terminal.

Ended at 16:26

I was exhausted.

France -day 12-Paris/Tokyo

Continued from France -day 11-Paris.

Finally the last day in Paris. We have to leave France.
How enjoyable 12 days.

Leaving the hotel early morning. Thunder sounded and rained heavily.

We found Ladurée on the lobby floor at the airport and bought some macarons.

Tastes good. They send macarons by air, but macarons here tasted better.

I mistook the flight time and arrived three hours earlier.
Then we could do some paper work for tax refund.

We visited the Air France lounge to spend plenty time to fly.

Breakfast.

Very relaxing place.

It was good I mistook and arrived three hours EARLIER. If it was three hours LATER, it was completely over.

We could not sleep in the airplane, and I watched movies.

Dawn from the window.

Arrived in Haneda Airport in early morning. It is good that the trains are not crowded.

It is much more humid and hot in Japan.

No skiing, No bicycle riding, but just sightseeing two weeks in France. Good trip

France -day 11-Paris

Continued from France -day 10-Paris.

Last day for sightseeing in Paris.

We tried a patisserie that serves breakfast as well, recommended by a magazine, but it was closed and would open at 10am.

Then we took breakfast at a brasserie nearby.

Not too bad for this menu at 10Euro.

Then we went to Église de la Madeleine and its neighborhood.

My wife stayed over two weeks around here before, and we saw the apartment.

Then we visited a Taiwanese tea house.

It was a good shop but it was very hot inside. We could relax more if it would be cooler.

We came back to the hotel and bought cakes at a patisserie.

It did not have the place to eat and we brought back to the hotel.
We were lucky to bring it back closer, but it is more difficult to bring further.

La Pâtisserie Arnaud Larher
57 Rue Damrémont, 75018 Paris

Tarte Tatin (right) and Monte-Cristo (Left).
Monte-Cristo was a nice cake with framboise and chocolate.

La Boussole for dinner, where we took two days ago.

Sunset in Paris.

We will miss it.

France -day 10-Paris

Continued from France -day 9-Paris.

Today we go sightseeing in Paris as well.

We woke up late and relaxed in the morning.

For the breakfast croissant of Poilâne and carrot rape of a super market Monoprix we bought yesterday.

An idea to go to Louvre came up and went there, but

A very very long cue to buy tickets. It seems more than 30 minutes to go.
We knew the ticket has to be obtained in Japan in prior, and we realized it is true.
Then we gave up and go sightseeing further.

Then we visited the Effel tower.

Just getting off the subway we gound Association pour la Maison de la Culture du Japon à Paris on the way to the tower.

There was no exhibition today. But it was good to use the clean washroom.

The Effel tower.

Under the tower.

Dynamic view from the foot.

But it looks more beautiful from the further point.

A shot that most of sightseers does.

And another shot.

The we went to a famous chocolatier's atelier.

Very delicious.

La Chocolaterie de Jacques Génin
133 Rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris

In neighborhood there are some bicycle shops.

Then we went to Cite island.

The subway station Cite looks like a submarine.

In this season Paris city builds a beach called Paris Plages on the north bank of Seine river.

It is said that the beach is built for Paris citizen to enjoy the atmosphere of the beach, even it is artificial.

We walked along the beach, but

It is hot and not allowed to get into the water.

After the beach we went to a gelato shop, Berthillon, in Saint-Louis island.

This is an old shop and we have been here for several times before.
They have some branches now.

The taste was good, but the service is a kind of old style operated by one man and Amorino, their competitor established after Berthillon, is much more sophisticated.

Walking back to the hotel with the view of Notre-Dame.

The thick clouds are approaching.

Just after we came back to the hotel, the rain started. We were lucky.

For dinner we just stopped by a brasserie.

We ordered an entry and a main plate shared with us.

This is the main menu. The taste was good, except the weird jelly.

La Brasserie Fernand
13 Rue Guisarde, Paris

We always feel guilty to order one plate for two people, but we cannot finish as a Japanese.
We believe it is better than undone

France -day 9-Paris

Continued from France -day 8-Montpellier/Paris.

Today we go shopping in Paris.

We tried breakfast in our neighborhood, but we could not find a good place.
Then we went straight to Printemps.

Our breakfast.

At La Maison du Chocolat underground floor of Printemps.

They have a good deel for three macarons, which I could not stop ordering.

The chocolate cream in it tastes rich.

Then we spent almost all the day in Printemps and

Galeries Lafayette.

It was annoying to go out for lunch and we took lunch in Lafayette.

Sushi box in 15 Euro!
The taste was not bad, but it is much more expensive than a nice lunch sushi menu in Tokyo.
Also, a sushi take-out store in my neighborhood in Tokyo discounts in 50% after 1pm, and the lunch pack like this costs about 200yen, or 1.5Euro.

Gorgeous celling in Lefayette.

We tried to find a good place for dessert, but the iPhone accessing in Lafayette was out of range probably due to the rigid stone building. and we could not find a place.
And the shower in the afternoon outside.

Then we found a cafe, Café Pouchkine in Printemps.

Full of macarons.

The taste was different from the "usual" ones but very good.

Chanel has an entry limit in the store. There was a long que.

In Printemps and Galeries Lafayette there were many tour groups of Chinese.
Also there are many Chinese-speaking staffs.
It is like that Japanese were shopping there 20 years ago. It is a déjà-vu to me.
On the other hand there are few Japanese people, and It is a shame to see the "Sunrise" Japan is actually sun-setting.

I have been in Printemps ten years ago, and the atmosphere is different. It was more casual, but now it is more luxury.
I feel the change of the age, that H&M, fast fashion is next to Printemps.

We bought a suitcase there for the shopping stuff.

It costed as much as it in Japan, but a little inexpensive considering the VAT refund.
The many Chinese tourists seemed to buy too much, and they also bought the suitcase. I saw many varieties in the morning but in the afternoon the choices are less.

For dinner we went to a small galette restaurant in our neighborhood, which we found last night.

The seats were full and we had to wait for a while.
The guests come, eat and go quickly and we could get in soon.

The staff are too busy to give us the best service but the taste was good.
